Jacob is inspired by two motifs dear to designer Salem van der Swaagh: the spotted fleece of the Jacob sheep – an ancient breed of small, patchy sheep – and the distinctive patterns found on birch tree trunks. The rug captures the details of the sheep's coat, which then merge into the fascinating veins of a birch trunk, appearing in the long fringes at one of its ends.
